We are proud to announce that FPW has added another RED Digital Cinema camera. This time, we’ve added the much-anticipated Red Epic-W 8K S35 to our collection. Released in mid October, we are thrilled to be some of the first creatives to get our hands on this camera. It’s a tool that has the potential to change things—radically.
At 35 Megapixels, 8K offers 17x more resolution than HD, and over 4x more than 4K. The new 8K Helium S35 sensor boasts a massive 16.5 stops of dynamic range, and a staggering 8192 x 4320 effective pixels. Capable of shooting motion and stills in 8K at up to 30 frames per second, the camera is technologically stacked.
Of course, specs and numbers become somewhat irrelevant when it comes to judging the actual image production. Unsurprisingly, the Epic-W 8K S35 performs just as we knew it would—with clear, pin sharp, cinematic images full of color and depth.
Few camera manufacturers have polarized the filmmaking community like RED. Since the company’s launch, they’ve been pushing boundaries and leading the way in cinematic advances. Today, a RED EPIC can be found on sets of big Hollywood features, television, advertising and even low-budget independent films. The RED brand is consistently engineering for excellence. This reliability, in combination with superior image quality, cutting edge performance and a sleek, compact design, makes us beyond confident in the capability of this camera.
At FPW, our chief pursuit has always been the creation of amazing projects for our clients. A new reality that we’ve come to appreciate is that viewer expectations are rising. Competition is fierce and quality matters. To exceed these expectations, we are committed to hiring the best talent and investing in the best gear to achieve top production value. We want your content to shine, stand out and reach the largest audience possible. As the saying goes, “Use the right tool for the job.” Undoubtedly, the Red Epic-W 8K S35 is a tool that will deliver.
